Designed and developed by Quest Computing Ltd, AIMS is highly configurable and this flexibility supports the modern funding organisation’s need to adapt and change. It is especially suitable for funding organisations which:
- Have multiple funding streams
- Intend to provide web access to applicants, assessors and staff
- Require a central contact database and CRM capability
- Need flexibility to meet any adjustments made to funding schemes
- Monitor outcomes as well as outputs

Permission based security allows full or partial access to screen and data – depending on the user’s needs. Moreover, because the system is web-based, it supports on-line peer reviewing, home / teleworking and e-government initiatives. AIMS also provides a medium for a collaborative working environment for internal/external experts and reviewers.
Flexibility is a key feature of AIMS, allowing Quest or client organisations to configure many aspects of the system. The main configurable areas or components of AIMS include:
- Workflows - The path and systems used in the linked flow of activities that describe the grant process. Roles are attached and activities can be added to various stages.
- Smartforms – non-complex online forms can be built with various question types and sections, which can be connected to the database optionally.
- Flexbase - Fields can be added to the main data elements in AIMS (applications, contacts, bank accounts.)
- Template letters - mail merge style letters that can have data fields included.
- Payments and Finance - The financial pipeline including application amounts, commitments and payments.
- Permissions - Access to functions within the system can be controlled via permissions some of which can be set up by scheme.
- Translations - labels and messages that appear in AIMS can be changed to whatever terminology or language is used internally by the organisation.
- Inbox - The columns that appear in the inbox are configurable.
- User registration - various types of user registration can be set up
Organisations that wish to change, modify or add new Grant Schemes in the future can do so easily without the need for expensive re-programming. New workflows can easily be added or modified by the organisation’s own staff, or by Quest, as and when the organisation’s schemes are modified.
In today’s business environment, Grant-Giving Organisations need to be ever more accountable to Executive Directors, Government Departments and indeed those who are accepted and rejected for various grants. The AIMS Online Grant System can track each and every application, making reporting, accountability and governance much easier. The system can also be easily integrated with leading financial systems to better keep track of spending.
