Forms are created in AIMS using the SmartForms tool. This tool allows users to build their own application forms, review forms, internal forms, etc and post them on-line. Complex forms can be created with no programming knowledge. Smartforms can also be attached to the database to aid retrieval of data and minimize duplication of effort. AIMS Smartforms conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 1.0.
SmartForms can be used to capture all kinds of submissions including research-funding proposals, financial and technical progress reports, end of project questionnaires, completed proposal evaluations, technical sign off documentation, expenditure certification letters, financial expenditure reports, C.V.'s, publications, papers etc.,etc.
The Grant Manager can create all of the various Forms to be filled out-on-line (or submitted by hard copy if preferred). All types of documents can be attached to an application including word documents, pdf, spreadsheets, images, video, PowerPoint, etc.
In short, this tool allows the AIMS user create complex forms with no programming or IT knowledge. Data captured in on-line forms reduces duplication of effort and this data can be used to create reports and monitor projects.
